  • Healthcare professionals

General

Q: How long does it take for (insert supplement here) to work, or benefit from?

A: Although supplements are beneficial from the first dose, there is no exact time frame available for individual consumers. We suggest giving each product at least 30 days to allow for changes to take effect.

Q: Are these supplements safe to take for a prolonged time?

A: As always, we suggest consulting with your healthcare provider regarding your specific circumstances. For many people, supplements provide a great way to stay healthy and can supply valuable nutrients when there may be a deficiency. In these cases, InterPlexus' supplements are generally considered safe for daily use.

Q: Can I take prescribed medications with your products?

A: Depending on the medication you have been prescribed, it is best to speak with your healthcare provider to further discuss the possible outcomes of using supplements with medications. InterPlexus provides full data sheets (on our website) to use as a resource when consulting with your provider.

Q: What are the suggested dosage amounts for children?

A: Dosage amounts for children are best decided by the child’s pediatrician.

Q: Can I take your probiotics with antibiotics?

A: Providers generally suggest taking probiotics and antibiotics separately. They can be taken on the same day; however, it is best to schedule their consumption as far apart as possible. It is best to consult with your healthcare provider and determine a schedule that would be beneficial to you and your circumstances.

Q: Can the capsules be opened and mixed with food or water?

A: Unless otherwise specified on the label, the capsule can be opened, and the ingredients can be mixed with food or water. We do suggest a soft food i.e., yogurt or applesauce rather than water. Several of our products contain ingredients with a sticky consistency that does not always dissolve in liquids.

Q: What is the half-life of your products?

A: There have been no studies regarding the elimination from the body for our products; therefore, we do not know the half-life of any product. We do hear from providers that patients benefit most when our supplements are taken daily. Therefore, it is likely that they may be eliminated relatively quickly.

Q: Why do InterPlexus’ supplements look different from bottle to bottle?

A: At InterPlexus we strive to deliver the highest quality/purity possible with minimal excipients, which often means the color of the blend may vary from batch to batch depending on the raw ingredients.

Manufacture Date

Q: What is the date found on InterPlexus products?

A: InterPlexus uses manufacturing dates on our products to indicate stability.

Q: What is a Manufacturing Date?

A: A manufacturing date is the date when the product was manufactured.

Q: Why does InterPlexus use a manufacture date and not an expiration date?

A: Unlike pharmaceuticals and food, supplements are at exceptionally low risk of releasing toxins when they begin to degrade. In most cases, supplements simply begin to lose their potency and become less effective over time.

Q: How long after the manufacture date do InterPlexus supplements (excluding Probiotics) begin to lose their potency?

A: If stored correctly, the potency of InterPlexus’ supplements remains good for at least 3 years (if not longer).

Q: Can I still use an InterPlexus product if it is more than 3 years past its manufacture date?

A: Although we don't recommend using products older than 3 years, they are not harmful to take. If a product is more than 3 years past its manufacture date, it doesn't mean it has "gone bad", it simply means one or more of the active ingredients might have less potency than indicated by the label.

Product Storage

Q: How do I store InterPlexus supplements (excluding Probiotics) correctly?

A: InterPlexus's supplements should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from excessive sunlight and high temperatures.

Q: How do I store InterPlexus probiotics correctly?

A: InterPlexus's probiotics should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from excessive sunlight and high temperatures. Probiotics can be stored in a refrigerator to help slow the degradation process.

Q: I received my probiotics in a box without anything to keep them cool, are they still viable?

A: Yes, the Probiotics are stored in a freezer at InterPlexus and only removed immediately before shipping to keep everything as fresh as possible. After receiving your probiotics, it is recommended they be stored in a refrigerator until ready for use.

Seriphos

Q: Is it necessary to take Seriphos before a meal?

A: Taking Seriphos 15-20 minutes prior to a meal is intended to optimize absorption. Considering individual health needs and/or directions from your healthcare provider, adjusting the timing of a dose is perfectly fine.

Q: Why do you have Ethanolamine listed as an ingredient in Seriphos?

A: Seriphos provides phosphorylated serine along with a synergistic blend of magnesium and calcium ethanolamine phosphates. Phosphorylated serine and ethanolamine phosphate serve as metabolic building blocks for the synthesis of phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine, cell membrane phospholipids that regulate key aspects of cellular function.

Q:  Is Phosphorylated Ethanolamine safe to take as a supplement?

A:  Yes! Phosphorylated Ethanolamine, also known as ethanolamine phosphate, occurs naturally in all cells and is a building block for making membrane phospholipids, including phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine, and phosphatidylserine. Ethanolamine phosphate is also a source of inorganic phosphate for the mineralization and strengthening of bone. According to animal and cell studies, ethanolamine phosphate may support improved mitochondrial function (energy production), optimal phospholipid balance in cell membranes during cortisol elevations (optimal cell membrane function during stress), and healthy cholesterol levels. For more information on this topic, please refer to our blog on the safety and benefits of phospholipids

Q: How is Phosphorylated Serine different from Phosphatidyl Serine (PS)?

A: Phosphorylated serine or phosphoserine is a compound of serine and phosphate without the fatty acid chains. Phosphatidylserine contains two fatty acid chains in addition to serine and phosphate. Phosphorylated serine serves as a metabolic building block for the synthesis of phosphatidylserine.
